COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

 

Advanced Business  (Included in Cosmetology, Hairstyling, and Barber Hairstyling)

This course is designed to introduce students to business and entrepreneurship as the vehicle for making money by understanding business strategies of the beauty and barber industry. Students will be exposed to the various functional areas in business including: entrepreneurship, goal setting, customer service, communication, financial management, leadership and marketing. 
This course is designed to provide students with an opportunity to become familiar with the cosmetology profession, Missouri State Board of Cosmetology/Barber requirements, laws/ regulations, and introduce the fundamental theory and practices of the beauty profession. Emphasis is placed on professional practices and safety.  
(Notice:  This course includes manicuring)
Basic Cosmetology Gainful Employment Information

 

Barber Hairstyling (1500 Hours)

This course is designed to provide students with an opportunity to become familiar with the barber profession, Missouri State Board of Cosmetology/Barber requirements, laws/regulations, and  introduce the fundamental theory and practices of the barber profession. Emphasis is placed on professional practices and safety.
Barber Haistyling Gainful Employment Information

 

Barber Crossover (45 Hours)

This course is designed to provide the student with an opportunity to become familiar with the barber profession, Missouri State Board of Cosmetology/Barber requirements, barber history, and shaving.  Emphasis is placed on professional practices and safety.
This course is designed to provide students with an opportunity to become familiar with the hair stylist profession, Missouri State Board of Cosmetology/Barber requirements, laws/ regulations, and introduce the fundamental theory and practices of the beauty profession. Emphasis is placed on professional practices and safety.
(Notice: This course does not include manicuring) 
 Hairstyling Gainful Employment Information
This course is designed to provide students in the basic skills of instructing, objectives; competencies methods, lesson planning, teaching techniques of the practical labs, interpersonal relations; evaluation and grading principles,classroom management, communications, counseling, record keeping, safety/first aid and basic skills of practical teaching techniques.
